Austin ISD is likely to have a new superintendent soon, and it's probably going to be the current interim superintendent, Matias Segura. The school board unanimously approved the profile for the new superintendent, which includes a focus on special education, multilingual education, staff morale, and equity for gender identity and sexual orientation. While there were concerns about changes to the district's priorities, the board assured the community that they remain committed to improving the education of economically disadvantaged students.
