Date: May 30th, 2024

Time: 2:00 to 3:30 P.M.

Topic: Integrating Critical Thinking into EFL Academic Reading and Writing Classrooms

Critical thinking involves evaluating information, arguments, and evidence to form a reasoned judgment. It encompasses skills such as questioning assumptions, identifying biases, considering multiple perspectives, and making well-supported decisions. Critical thinking is essential for language learners as it enhances their ability to question, analyze, and evaluate information, leading to a deeper understanding of English language content and improved language proficiency. This workshop will equip EFL teachers with practical strategies to integrate critical thinking into academic reading and writing lessons, whether it be for general academic instruction or standardized tests. By the end of this workshop, teachers should have new strategies to help students become more independent, thoughtful, and effective communicators in English.
