欢迎各位英语教学同仁2024年2月3日前来北京美国中心，参加由地区英语项目办公室（Regional English Language Office）举办的英语教学研讨会！我们很荣幸地邀请到曾参与美国国务院英语语言学者项目的Sarah Warfield 以及现任英语语言学者Keturah Haferkamp，与大家一起探讨分享有关英语教学的实用策略与理念。研讨会日程见下文。

Join us for an enriching day of professional development at the Beijing American Center on February 3rd, 2024, for the English teaching seminar organized by the Regional English Language Office (RELO). Esteemed English Language Fellow alumna, Sarah Warfield, and current English Language Fellow Keturah Haferkamp, will lead four insightful and interactive workshops from 9 am to 5 pm, providing practical strategies and thoughts for effective English teaching. Trainer Bios: 

Sarah Warfield is a Senior Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at NYU Shanghai. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, she was a Fellow and Fellow Coordinator for the English Language Fellow Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State. She is currently an English Language Specialist, providing training and program support to language instructors around the world. Ms. Warfield has taught academic English at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Indiana University, Bloomington, the University of Kentucky, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Jinan University in Guangzhou, China. She has been training and mentoring teachers in academic language programs for over 10 years. Ms. Warfield is an active member of the TESOL International Association and the American Association for Applied Linguistics. 

Keturah Haferkamp is currently an English teacher in Illinois, USA, where she teaches writing and literature courses to first and second year university students. In total she has 17 years of college level teaching experience. This includes experience as a visiting professor for institutions interested in Academic Writing for English Language Learners (ELL). Haferkamp enjoys teaching and has taught at and built curriculum for tertiary level institutions both in the states and in East Asia such as Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul (2010-2012), Peking University in Beijing (Summer 2015 and Summer 2017), South China University of Technology in Guangzhou (2019), Handong Global University in Pohang, S Korea (2020-2021), and currently Northeastern University in Shenyang (2023-2024). Haferkamp loves travel, reading, gardening, sunshine, watching snow fall from the sky, and she is honored to be an English Language Fellow this year in Shenyang, China.

This event is ONLY open to English teachers, researchers, and university students. The event will be conducted in English. Audio or video recording of the program will not be permitted.  

请务必携带本人身份证原件及报名确认函进入北京美国中心, 证件复印件或照片将不被允许进入。请勿携带大包及笔记本电脑前往。便携式电子设备如：手机、平板电脑和智能手表可以带入北京美国中心。请在使馆东门排队等候。  

You must bring both your valid photo ID and registration confirmation in order to get into the BAC. Copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted. Large bags and laptops will not be allowed into BAC for this event. Portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are allowed to bring into the BAC. Please wait in line at the East Gate of the Embassy.

Please arrive 20 minutes earlier ahead of the start time. You will NOT be admitted if you arrive half an hour after the program has started. If you cannot show up for the event, please cancel your reservation via email to [email protected] at least 24 hours ahead. Otherwise, for future events, we may cancel your reservations.

Directions: Metro Line 10, Liangmaqiao Station Exit B, walk northeast to the Tian Ze Road intersection of An Jia Lou Road, north side of the Visas Office.
