活动描述 Event Description
Workshop 1: Empathetic Ears: Teaching English Through Storytelling
This educational workshop, inspired by Robert E. Jones's 2012 article "Creating a Storytelling Classroom for a Storytelling World," will enable the participants to explore how storytelling serves as a powerful tool for language learning, focusing on practical exercises that illustrate how to apply these techniques in their own classrooms. Using materials from americanenglish.state.gov, participants will practice language learning tasks that include creating and analyzing stories, and discussing how these can enhance empathetic understanding and inclusion. The session culminates with participants sharing their experiences and feedback, emphasizing the value of community and continuous learning in educational practices.
Workshop 2: Writing with Empathy: Encouraging Inclusive Narratives in EFL
This workshop is designed to enhance English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction by focusing on empathetic and inclusive writing skills. The workshop combines theoretical insights with practical exercises, guiding educators through the importance of empathy in writing and how it can bridge cultural and personal divides. Participants will engage in activities that encourage writing and critiquing narratives that reflect diverse perspectives, using resources from americanenglish.state.gov to support their teaching. This workshop aims to equip educators with the necessary tools to foster a more inclusive, understanding, and empathetic environment in their classrooms.
